I was so lost and of no direction,
My boat was sailing on an unknown pattern.
Then you came along with definitions
To all the “whats” I have earned.
The sparks in your eyes define hope,
The smile on your lips defines beauty.
The curve on your hips defines tope
And your sweet voice defines melody.
But above all physical attributes
Is your disposition
And to that, no one has to dispute
That your heart is kind, a woman of compassion
This is an hombre’s lexicon,
The repressed woman’s potion
"Whether we write for pleasure or reward—as writers we share a common agenda: We write to discover what we know and to see what we can learn. We think a subject through and lay it out for the reader. We write to make a difference—to have an impact on what our readers think and do." -THE WRITER'S AGENDA

YOU'RE LOVED (Black-out Poetry)
Just a few words for you all...
People would threaten,
Some would make rude comments.
Refuse to feel pressured.
Fight!
Wake up!
YOU'RE LOVED
People would threaten,
Some would make rude comments.
Refuse to feel pressured.
Fight!
Wake up!
YOU'RE LOVED

Literature: Where Living Begins
LITERATURE: WHERE LIVING BEGINS

Hell denotes a scorching sea of fire beneath the earth's wrinkled bedding. it is where wicked, immoral, ungodly, and go on name some more, people go after death. digging
deeper, hell connotes for the roof within ourselves where lives ignorance and benightedness that is supposed to be literature's home. Yes, literature: the vivifying vitamin of of the soul for a sound life. Literature depletes the long distance between paradise and a reader. Paradise on earth isn't always about a fancy place nor a pleasant view but the state of being free from the suppressing chain of unawareness and embracing the privilege of cognizance and information.

Literature, in its very own ways, opens our closed eyes so we see the beauty of life,

clears our blurred visions so we can determine what is correct from incorrect, activates our passive minds so we think logically, and awakens our stagnant imagination and creativity for a chromatic life. It drives away obliviousness and it lets us see life on different views and aspects.Wonder what Literature and Science have in common? They both contribute for an easier and convenient living. And without literature, we just live but we're lifeless. We breathe but we lack in air.

Election and the Contenders
Being a student from Humanities and Social Sciences, politics and its forms satisfy me. Even its form on a school-basis captured my interest: the student council election. Being exposed in that field, and through observation, I have come up into types of candidates before or after the election.
1. The Bitter Gourd Come to Life
He is a candidate who wasn't given a chance to be elected. Well, there's nothing wrong with losing.. but the thing is he cannot accept defeat. His actions towards his counterpart on the other party list is not tolerable. Anyway, as time passes by, the wound heals. Time will come he'll accept it, but for now, let him be a "bitter gourd trapped in a man's body",
2. The Gossiper
He is the Bitter Gourd's best backstabbing buddy. He is neither elected or not. The problem with him is he is insecure and ungrateful. He does insinuate, especially now that social media can be someone's public diary, disregarding the social media ethics. He can do his business digitally. Be vigilant.
3. The Miriam Defensor-Santiago
Miriam, coined as "The best president we never had" can be a candidate who wasn't elected but is deserving. He can be "The deserving officer we never voted". Well, if there's still next year, try to give him a chance.
4. The Pia Wurtzbach
He is a candidate who won the election yet kept his feet on the ground and fulfilled his platforms. Also, he is a kind type of leader.. always smiles and approachable. He someone adored by his schoolmates, especially the juniors because he is like an older sibling material to a friend real quick. Also, He is charismatic and charming, he can be the darling of the crowd. He is "confidently functional with a heart"
5. The Alumni
They were once candidates, regardless whether they're elected or not who already left the school yet do not cease to support the party they came from. Well, I see no wrong. There's no wrong in supporting but hey, being a graduate for like two to four years, don't you any businesses to manage? I mean some things aren't for you to interfere even though you're a concern alumnus. In short, maybe, it's none of your business anymore.
6. The Never Say Die!
He is a candidate who took like 2 to 3 elections before elected. FINALLY! His motto is "never say die! try and try until you succeed!" Astonishing perseverance, right? He is someone voters can guarantee to be dedicated and true to his words. He's somehow like Miriam, try to give him a chance.
7. The Student Council Awardee
He is someone who attempted to become a part of student council during his junior years. He won. He run again and won and ran again and won and ran again and won. In short, student council witnessed how he grew up and matured as an individual and a leader.
8. The Amazing Grace
Its lyrics says: "I was once lost, but now I'm found".. well, he literally lost but he accepted it whole-heartedly. Wonderful right? The school needs a leader who accepts defeat and is happy for others' achievement. We all need that 'Amazing Grace' and spread his vibe!
Now, have you tried participating in school-based election? What type of candidate are you? Or if not, I'm sure someone popped in your mind after reading every type. Anyhow, it's for you to reflect.
